Should I even think of overclocking? AMD Athlon II x3 455 and BIOSTAR A880G+

Thread Starter
Well, the computer I am referring to is down in my signature (at least it should be xD)
Anyways, Should I even think of overclocking? It's only got the stock cooler, but after running a few different benchmarks, playing my games and such for the past two weeks from when I put it together. According to HWMonitor and AMD's OverDrive I am usually around 55c on each of the cores. Anyways, I've only used the mobo's core unlocker to get it to an AMD Phenom II B55 x4 @ 3.3 GHz. Also, I used the Gameboost on it to get the speeds of the integrated video up a tad to the speeds in the sig.

I'm a newbie at this who only has ever had old systems that I've performed minor upgrades on so I could do what I needed to, wasn't expecting much out of this system as it is now since it I put a whole $300 into it. Badly needed to get rid of my old Athlon 64 3800+ x2 w/ a GeForce 210 that had a failing hard drive, lol. Plan to eventually get a decent graphics card, better PSU, a quality heatsink/fan, and some more fans for better airflow.

Ehh.... MB has only 4+1 phase, no VRM heatsink... on the other hand, its a 95w cpu and the board is made for 125w.

If you do overclock a little bit, be very careful with voltage, don't push it too hard. Its not the CPU I'm worried about, its the motherboard.

No point in Overclocking that chip too much. Best just to get a Video Card for it and call it
a day. You could even throw your nVidia 210 in it for now. Would be much better than
integraded Video.

It's a bonus that you were able to unlock the 4th core, and 3.3Ghz is a good speed for today's tasks.
