About the Choc mini, I'm afraid of changing caps and having a height difference from the stock keycaps.
I think it's best to have the closest setup to my rubberdome, the more standard the less paranoid I am of getting use to a keyboard/hitting the wrong keys in clutch time. (I read you said it would take a couple days, but I've been using keyboards like this for over ten years).
As far as switches goes... I still have to try them all, but I'll start by going to Best Buy / Frys to test blacks.

Bestbuy usually carries the blackwidow too, so you can try blues out as well, it wouldn't surprise me to see the corsair boards at frys either. The height difference afaik isn't anythign too major and if you swap out most of the keys you'll be fine imo.

If that's the case, what's so wrong about the white noppo choc mini 84 /w PBT caps? I can chose from brown, blue, black, and red I believe.

I do believe there is a squeaky stabilizer issue, and that would annoy me since I use space bar a lot. But I heard the keyboard isn't hard to dismantle and tape around the stabilizer will be a temporary fix. (I suck at modding)

I can buy the new revision on the noppo choc mini, but I keep thinking about all the other keyboards that were recommended to me:
1) Leopold tenkeyless
2) CM ___fire
3) KBT Limited Edition Pure/Race (one of the two)
4) DECK red backlit (wasn't recommended, but I saw it for $80)

That deck you mention is actually the TG3. It is not the consumer model from DECK which is the gaming/consumer end of TG3.
The Deck version which is different costs north of 150..........

Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't know that.

Is there a quality difference, a feel of typing difference between the two?

Is this a good price for this keyboard?

I still have to go to Frys to try out blues/blacks and hopefully brown.

I would take any of those keyboards over the Noppoo Choc Mini.(Except the Pure and Race because I have never used one and expect it to be sub par quality compared to some of my other keyboards)

Frys also won't have a keyboard with Browns. They should have Corsair (MX Red), Steelseries 6GV2(MX Black), Razer Blackwidow and Ultimate(MX Blue), and a SIIG Mechanical( Simplified ALPS).

Much appreciated, I dig posts like this.

May I ask why? Is the keyboard's squeeky space bar's stabilizer a deal-breaker?

Sucks there is no brown, but I heard blues are similar to browns..but browns take less force to press and they are less audible & have less of a tactile feedback feel to them... is this true?

That TG3 Electronics BL82 for $58 + shipping sounds tempting, but I'd hate to buy a keyboard and guess the switch isn't right for me (and I say guess, because I've yet to type on anything that isn't a rubberdome).

Can anyone explain the typing difference on an average rubberdome vs an average cherry mx black switch? (I believe there are some variables to be discusses, backplate, ring/dampeners, and costars vs cherry ____, right?)

Going to Frys/Best Buy tomorrow before I place my order on a KBT Race. I feel akward going to the store, do people usually open the merchandise before purchasing? I know Frys sells open box items, and is this the case?

What should I know about the Race (it's the backlit one)?
I know I want to try out the board, but it's more of a gutsy feeling.
It will cost anywhere from $105-$115 (depending on the switch type) and I believe shipping is charged from Malaysia. I'm buying the keyboard no matter what, and I'm not sure why I'm stressing on which keytype is for me... this keyboad should blow my rubberdome out of the water.

The Noppoo is a good keyboard but the quality just isn't up to to the standards of the others listed. It has much more case flex in comparison.

Without trying both you really wouldn't have a good idea of what the other switch is like.

MX Blacks feel nothing like a rubber dome anyone who says so must have little sense of feel.

I just called Deck and talked to Adam.
He said the tg3 one is PS2 only. He didnt know if it could be changed to USB.
It is built a bit differently for the industrial market.
It has a rubber backsplash under the keys that can be removed.
It does not use the same diamond steel base pan.
There are also a few differences to make it more robust on the inside.
The lights and diodes are the same.
The keycap font is different.

Also only 2kro. I've always heard the backsplash being referred to as the bloodguard,
