The Antec Kuhler 920 worked really well for me when I used it. It's a closed water-cooling loop.

I would personally shy away from liquid cooling for a few reasons..

1. Cost
2. Liquid cooling always has the risk of leaks, which will ruin your entire system in an instant (not something I can sleep with)
3. Quality air coolers meet or exceed the cooling capacity of all liquid coolers on the market.
4. Liquid cooling heats up the longer the system is on or under load, this means that the cooling becomes less efficient, the longer the system is under load.
5. Most liquid coolers have an annoying buzzing sound from the pump, which is almost always louder than the noise of a simple air cooler, seeing as though the liquid radiators need fans on them anyway.
6. Liquid can take a long time to cool back down after stopping CPU heavy apps, which means it will take longer to reach normal idle temps than an air cooler would.

You can spend $100+ on a liquid cooler that's loud, annoying, and not very efficient - or you can spend $25 on a hyper 212+ or maybe $80 for a big honkin Noctua and get ALMOST the same cooling out of each of them - both are cheaper than liquid, maybe not as cool to show off to your friends, but always the safer and more efficient option, as well as FAR cheaper for cooling your CPU.

I look at it this way when overclocking - I'm overclocking to save money, to get the performance I WANT with the money I dont HAVE... If I attach $100 cooler to a $120 processor for a 20% performance increase in OC - then maybe I should have just gotten a 50% or so faster processor for the $100 extra in the first place? My Cooler Master N-520 performs as well as many of the liquid cooling options on the market - It has two 92MM fans in a push-pull - it's quiet and I paid $30 for it. I have my 960T OC'd 30% to 4.15 GHz and never see temps over 55C in Prime95 stress testing for hours. Gaming it never exceeds 42C which is WELL below the 62C max even on the hottest of days - all for $30. A hyper 212+ isn't as pretty, but will actually cool better than my N-520 with another fan added and is like $25 shipped.

Get a good thermal paste, like Shin-Etsu G751 (best on the market) for about $5 on Newegg (does about 4 CPUs if properly applied) and you will have a huge leg up on most coolers just from choosing a good, quality paste.

Cooler Master 212 evo $35 greatest thing since sliced bread... smile.gif

It's basically a 212+ with better base

I'm sorry, but most of the information above is truly false. If you want to be sure of 4Ghz on that chip, wc will guarantee it.

I would say that most of the stuff the above poster said about liquid cooling actually is the opposite to the truth. It sounds just like he is describing air cooling!

No i have to disagree, some of the things he say are true, and some are bashing but....

Generally cost is pretty high for wc,

And his 2 paragraphs below are both true, noctua air coolers have been proven to be just as good as corsairs h-series.
As well as his opinion of buying a 100 dollar cooler to get a oc performance boost, you may as well have bought a better cpu...

Some of what he said in his list is bashing, but not MOST of what he said.

Either way, i'd say you could hit 4ghz on an hyper 212 evo for 35 dollars you can't go wrong.
