Gaming build, $650 budget.

Hey guys! Building something for a friend on a tight budget. He already has all the peripherals, and the OS disk, just needs a computer.

He won't be playing BF3 (phew biggrin.gif ) but he will be playing Shogun 2, and when it comes out Rome Total War 2.

So far, I've gone with:

CPU + Mobo: i3-2100 + Asus P8H61-M LX-B3
GPU: Asus 6850 DCU
RAM: Kingston HyperX 1333 2x4GB
Case: Thermaltake V3 Black
DVD: Any
PSU: Cm Extreme+ 460w
HDD: Seagate 500GB

Would this be ok? Any suggestions, or comments? He's not a techie guy, won't be OCing or anything, doesn't care about crazy FPS, just wants a rig that will play his games redface.gif

650 converted from Singapore Dollars. If it would help price-wise, that's about 800 Singapore Dollars, and here's a pricelist:
http://www.fuwell.com.sg/uploads/misc/Fuwell100312.pdf That's how it goes in Singapore. biggrin.gif you download the list, check the stuff, then go buy.

No Newegg here rolleyes.gif

Good start, I would upgrade the CPU to the i3 2120 (higher clock) and get a mATX z68 board for around $100

i3 2120 + z68 board

Everything else looks good, maybe go for this power supply instead. I think that CM 460 is a rebranded 400 watt.

Ah. Sorry for not mentioning that earlier. I guess I've gotten used to having OCN, Newegg and a Currency Converter open all at once smile.gif
