You had that problem? That's what I'm guessing. How'd you install them correctly? Remove the old ones then install the new? Delete the registry values? Delete the old drivers folder?

the only way i can get nvidia drivers to work for me anymore is if i uninstall the old drivers (if the uninstaller works, it hasn't been lately), then run driver sweeper and get rid of literally everything, then install the new drivers. otherwise i get lots of game issues and gpu instability.

Even that can sometimes leave traces of the old drivers. There is an excellent guide at EVGA which details a flawless, imho, driver uninstall and install process.

I've been doing it this way since I got these cards and the only issues I've had are ones that Nvidia created with new drivers. :/

i've seen that guide, but found my way to be just as good. the thing i left out of my previous post is that after i run drive sweeper, but before i install the new drivers, i go through all the folders under my C: and manually delete any nvidia folders. you have to make it so that hidden folders are shown and go through the app data for the users and program files. after doing that, i cannot personally find any traces of nvidia drivers, and drive sweeper doesn't find any either. to each their own though.

This is odd, nVidia usually does really well with driver software. I wonder how the official kepler drivers will be if people are already having problems here.

Never had a problem with any WHQL driver, played BF3 fine a few hours ago. Then I don't play a lot of games so I'm lowering the odds of encountering anything lol.

Well im on my laptop in class tonight and I did what you guys said. Delete the drivers in programs and files in CP and then delete the old folder. Then run the clean install option with the new drivers. Seems to work but I can't run a game or heaven3.0 since im in CLASS right now..lol so I should have a good look at if this worked.

Does anyone have before/after heaven3.0 results?

I'm hoping they fix the issue I have with 3D Mark 11. Even on stock clocks on everything (RAM, CPU & GPU) I can't get it to pass 10 seconds of the first test, where the last WHQL 285.xx ran the same benchmark at my high overclocks.

I r disappoint in 295 WHQL. frown.gif

I had a strange problem when I first installed 295.73 on a fresh Win7 install. All of my DX11 stuff (3dMark, Heaven, etc.) would crash. I eventually went back and installed the oldest driver I had (265.xx), and everything worked. Then I reinstalled 295.73 (without a clean install), and this time the DX11 stuff worked. It's almost as though the 295s were depending on something else having been installed previously.

I just bought Civ V last weekend, so I guess I'll need to update to 296.10. Oh boy.
