Actually u can say the same of AMD,they released a whole new architechture a year or so later than nvidia's high end card and only beat it by 20%. So considering this 3 months aint bad at all and its not even the big gun yet.

I'll be picking up 2x MSI 7970 Lightnings and I'll be HAPPY with those. The 680 could drop and be 60% faster and I'd still be happy.

Carrot = w0rldz b3st gpu and my black friend with no neck = everyone on this thread

Yeah a GTX 680 a midrange.. Though we are still not sure if this will be really named a 680 and how much it will be priced.

Overly unimpressed with this generation of cards, especially with AMD's pricing! -- or my expectations were just too much? I'll surely skip this gen and just buy a used GPU as I seriously need to replace mine:o.

Considering the performance they deliver, OUR (I talk about overall OCN) expectations on pricing were too high.

And with the latest drivers for the 7970 showing big performance gains, especially in BF3 then that number will drop lower.
Waited all these months for ~13% which might actually be lower in the real world.

You talk about new drivers for the 7970 but I'm guessing you forget that Nvidia has drivers that improve performance as well...

Radeon HD 7XXX > GeForce GTX 5XX Period. NVidia fanboys shut up, just deal. The 600 series isn't even close to coming out and it will be better, obviously because it's newer. When the 8000 series comes out AMD will be on top again. It has nothing to do with brands guys! Everything that can be used to describe the 500 series can be used to describe the 7000 series except the 7000 series is better. It's cooler, more power effiecient, higher performance, and hell, even quieter than the 500 series.
