Hardware you wish you didn't buy and why? - Page 6

Definitely my 2600k. At the time I was being bottlenecked by a c2d, and I decided to get the 'best on the market' for my processor.

As anybody with sense will tell you, it's not worth it (over the 2500k) unless you can actually USE the hyperthreading. Hindsight is 20/20, eh?

It is a massage chair, like the airport ones. Hahaha, I got it for £60 off a really dodgey guy my friend buys illegal substances from haha! He got it "apparently" from an office that was being shut down. It was originally £300. Good deal really!

I consider myself computer savvy enough, I've had 3 Hitachi drives for years and would consider them the best drives around but I do admit to having done a heck of a lot of reading about this fact as I used to swear by Samsung and Seagate. A seagate drive failed on me and I didn't want to get burnt again so asked around. The general consensus was that most manufactureres have drives that fail, it happens to all manufacturers and most poeple who use computers will suffer it at least once. Now statiscally I'm sure some companies are worse than others but I'm not interested in testing the theory. I understand however that once burnt you wouldn't go back to Hitachi. but I consider them one of the best HDD out there. From all my research all I can advise is to exepct the worst and back up, even Western Digital drives will fail.

My case and hard drive. Case is just trash plain out. I want a 400R. Also my hard drive is 5400rpm which means more time waiting for things to load and less productive time. I'll probably get a western digital caviar blue to place my green.

HAF-932 - "initial OMG this is a great case!" after the 2-week return period. trying different fan options sucked up more money than i had originally planned. now i also have 3 boxes of case fans frown.gif

Zalman LED CPu cooler (CNPS9900?) the fins were really sharp, and the mounting hardware made it a pain to install easily.

i7-920 - ended up buying my current 970 when it was on sale, anyways.

my case. don't get me wrong, the df-5 is nice, but it was the first PC i ever built and I had no idea water cooling even existed at the time. Wish i had gone with a larger/wider case
