Cant decide on new moniter, need help

Thread Starter
Currently i have a 21in led dell and a 37in vizio razer led as my main screen. I'm going to be moving the vizio out ( to the family room ). I wasnt really that good as a moniter anyways ( never could get the colors right, whites had a pinkish tint, blacks wernt great, works awesome as a hd tv though).

So heres my dilema. Cant decide on what route to go, so any opinoins or any suugestions would be great. I'll be running 2 GTX 580's overclocked also. Use will be gaming, browsing, and watching movies from time to time. Heres my options:

1: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236206
or
2: http://www.benq.us/product/monitor/xl2420tx

Now Ive never seen anything in 3D before. Is gaming in 3D that much better? Is 3D really worth it? And both are 120hz, so would my sli 580's even be able to take advantge of it and the 3D.

or
3: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236153
Now I can order 2 of these right now and could get another in a month or so. Down side is that its a 24 with no 3D but the price is very inticeing. If I choose to get 3 of these, could they be ran in portrait mode?

Right now I'm leaning towards the Asus 27 3D mainly due to size. If i went with option 2 I would just get that for now and after I get my taxes back i'ld get 2 more, and if 3D is that good then I'ld prefer that also.

Also if running a 3d surround setup, do all 3 moniters have to be 3d, or can just the center be 3d and the other two be regular.

Honestly, 3d is one of those things you have to try for yourself to see if you like. Personally I think it's extremely gimmicky and that it will probably die down in a years time from now, its already less popular, you never really hear of anyone saying

"OMG I WAS GAMING IN 3D THE OTHER DAY IT WAS SO DANG COOL".

I have tried it and didn't like it, yet my bestfriend likes it a lot. One thing I can say though, is true 120hz monitors are worth every penny. As long as your eyes arn't broken playing games at 120hz in non 3d is absolutely amazing. But expensive. haha.

As far as as running em in portrait, I don't see why not, but I'm fairly certain all three monitors would need to be in 3d, else it would just be odd haha.

Hope this helps.
