Better 27" IPS from Korea? PCBANK 3VIEW PB2700 - Page 42

For those with buzzing monitors.

I tried CharlesK's epoxy fix and it worked perfectly. Mine used to buzz audibly on text-heavy pages such as Wikipedia, but now it's totally silent.

Some pics of my fix:

Also, here's a picture of the sticker on the back of my PCBANK PB2700 Super (0 dead pixels) in case anyone's interested:

Well I picked up a Datacolor Spyder 4 Pro off of Newegg the other day, and I did a full calibration on my PB2700 non-super. I did allow it to do an ambient light scan, though lighting is a bit yellowish in my computer room, because it's easy on the eyes and minimizes headaches when working on stuff for many hours. Color accuracy seems to have changed for the better, and the report came out as 100% sRGB, 81% Adobe RGB, and 75% NTSC rating on the monitor after calibration. Details are now easily discernible and colors are much more accurate.

Regrettably I can't get the 81% AdobeRGB rating on anything, but the ambient light check, so you ladies and gents will have to settle with 80% at 26 steps down on the brightness button from max brightness. A good all-around balanced light level that is easy on the eyes, as well as pretty darn accurate for both of the other ratings at 100% and 75% respectively.

The shimian has 10 levels of backlight and I have it set to #3 and it is still very bright. I think the spyder maxes out at 100% (mine also says 100%). Reviews on playwares put it at 112-115% srgb. BTW it read 98% on my old TN panel and 92% on my laptop.

I want one of these so badly. Don't know if I can make myself spend so much on an iffy monitor though.
