Better 27" IPS from Korea? PCBANK 3VIEW PB2700 - Page 45

Hi all,
just joined the forum.
Last couple of weeks i was making my mind on which monitor should i get, and this forum was really helpful.
I had almost set my mind on this PCBank "Perfect Pixel" Super monitor, but then i saw a 30" ACHIEVA Shimian QH300 30" monitor at $820 and i'm hesitating again now.
Besides that it is 3" bigger and has 2560x1600 resolution, it also features true 10bit panel, 100% Adobe RGB, and 18x CCFL backlit. Very nice monitor, on paper at least. All this for twice the price of popular 27" IPS monitors but half the price of Dell U3011.

What do you think,is it worth extra $ to get such a nice monitor or should i set on 27"?

i don't think you gain as much from 27 - 30" for 2x the price, but that's just me. I'm on a budget biggrin.gif

If you are willing to pay more money for the 30" monitor go for it. 27" at 1440P is great.

Hrm, so am I safe to order a PB2700 Super and hope for no dead pixels or should I pay a premium and go for a PB2700 Super "Pixel Perfect" (in product listing title) version?

I'm stuck deciding between this monitor and the Achieva QH270-Lite, which can be purchased for even less (~$320 from sellers I decided I trust).

Has anyone compared them in person here? I'd love to know if there's any practical difference between them in terms of backlight distribution, streaky colors, and ease of calibration (such as decreasing brightness without losing much contrast and such).

I ordered a pixel perfect from bigcloth on the 3rd....... following the tracking it looks like it will be here Thurs. Only issue is my current gpu is a 5870..... putting together a new build and was holding out for a 680 4gb. I do however have a new msi 6970 lightning sitting here which hasnt seen a cpu yet, so i may just try that if it takes too long to get a 680.

I have a sapphire 5870 eyefinity 6...how can I get it to work with this/catleap/achieva? I'm not worried about not being able to see the bios. Thanks

Also, could someone clarify what it's like in practice for the PCBank monitor to take some time to turn on? You can't see the BIOS load? My BIOS is super fast with my new ASRock Extreme4 z77 motherboard, so I won't be able to go into BIOS settings with PCBank as my only monitor? (unless I keep mashing "Delete" and hope I get in by the time the monitor turns on).

I think I'm going to try a Perfect Pixel version of this monitor (only question is, should I go for the regular version or the Super - price difference is $20 for... the stand change? ...anything else?) and want to make sure I understand what I'm getting into with this monitor vs. my other possible purchase : Achieva ShiMian Lite. I'm leaning toward the PCBank because of the lack of the white bezel trim and good reviews here, but now I wonder if color bleed/streaking and long boot might be a problem (and not a problem with the Achieva?)

I'm very ready to order, just hope to get some more feedback!!

Also, looks like GreenSum's not including a DVI cable or power adaptor. He has a Perfect Pixel version of the original PCBank for $320 at the moment and the Perfect Pixel Super version for $343. For the latter, I'll probably go with another seller.
