Better 27" IPS from Korea? PCBANK 3VIEW PB2700 - Page 51

Writing this based on conversations with various sellers and having read hundreds of feedback pages here and in other threads, PCBank Perfect Pixel monitors are not checked by sellers themselves - they are checked at the factory. Thus asking a seller to check such a monitor before shipping will result in a reply that they do not check the monitors themselves. I believe Green_sum's Perfect Pixel monitors ship directly from the factory or something like that.

Moreover, in PCBank's case, most of the "perfect pixel" listings are from the category of products that come with a factory-placed "Zero Dot" sticker, which likely means "no bright / stuck pixels" which stick out like bright dots - not zero dead pixels, which are dark and harder to notice. These monitors are then listed as "perfect pixel". Thus there have been cases of people ordering Perfect Pixel and getting dead pixels. And how about dust under the actual LCD panel? That also happens and is yet another defect to be aware of, which looks like a dead pixel.

For all of those Korean monitors, some sellers will check for dead and stuck pixels for an extra fee and give you a "perfect" monitor, pixel-wise, and others will simply make sure you don't get any MORE dead pixels than is allowed in their policy (i.e. under 5 all around), and some, in case of the PCBanks with that sticker, will just have the monitor shipped unchecked "from the factory". Dream-seller can check for dead pixels on some monitor models and then there should be zero in the central region, but upon arrival, it's not a guarantee, as anything might happen in between. Seems there's still a chance you'd get a monitor with an "allowed" number of dead pixels.

So overall, I would say it's a wash and still luck-based. Most monitors will be fine, but as many people have said, ordering "perfect pixel" monitors will not mean 100% pixel perfect every time in practice. Also, I ordered from a seller that I thought would be able to look at my monitor, as they claim they test displays before sending for proper operation, but they said checking for perfect pixel is not possible for them for that model. So I'm confused but not surprised, and just hope my Achieva will arrive without noticeable defects. After all, I'm paying so little money for it, relatively-speaking, it's difficult to expect absolute perfection versus $1000-range monitors (which can still arrive with dead pixels).

Try using another dual-link dvi cable. The one that comes with the monitor is hit or miss. I had to get one from Monoprice to get a proper signal.

Thanks, I will try to buy new dual-link dvi cable today.

First, thanks everyone for helping. Not sure if the seller read this forum but the seller responded me now and is willing to solve the issue.

What he proposed is I can go to the carrier and ship it back to him under his account and he will ship a replacement to me.

This means the seller need to pay the shipping costs twice (in total three times)?!
Wow, I guess all the money goes to the carrier now...
That's why better do some basic checking before shipping oversea in the first place. It helps both the seller and the buyer eventually.

I probably shouldn't disclose the seller's name, and if the issue can be resolved well, I will also update everyone.

FYI, my box doesn't have the 'zero dot' sticker.
There are two shipping labels on top of the box where the sticker might be located at.
Didn't peel them off as that will damage the box. But I did spend some time to feel if there is any sticker underneath and didn't find any.

And if there were no those defects, the monitor itself would be amazing.

Has anyone noticed premature backlight aging with their monitors?

When I first got mine, I measured the max brightness with my X-Rite i1 Display 2 at slightly over 300 cd/m^2. Minimum brightness was around 88 cd/m^2.

Now, a few weeks later, I did these measurements again and max brightness is only around 265 cd/m^2. Minimum is now at around 73 cd/m^2.

If anyone else with a calibration unit could measure theirs for comparison, that would be great.

I have received the PCBank 2700 Super monitor 2 days ago. It doesn't seem to work. When I turn it on a red led light appears and nothing else. I bought today a new DVI cable, no use. Anyone have any ideas? I have a GTX 680 installed.
Thank you for your help.
