Some of you guys just need to leave this thread. The OP is talking about folding, not any other program. There is no point in posting benchmarks for different programs that are not relevant to the OPs question.

There is a reason that every single folder that has posted has said AMD... yes, the Intel Xeons are extremely powerful chips. But when it comes to folding on multiple CPU systems, dollar for dollar and watt for watt the AMD beats it.

I said the 300k-500k rigs, bought for <$2000. If you were believing that rigs were being bought for $300,000 then they're is something seriously flawed with your brain. Your criticizing my lack of coherent sentence structure when you clearly show no will to be open-minded, or to accept other arguments.

You are making an inference on what you believe. Not once did I say what I thought the "300k-500k rigs" were. I didn't make a comment on them, but rather the post in its entirety. Also, please list your credentials on what lead you to believe my brain is flawed. Again, it is not the reader's job to assume what the author of a post meant.

If any post that follows mine says that Xeons are better Folders than a 4P 6174 rig, I will personally report the post for misinformation, and if no action is taken, take care of the post myself.
This thread should have been made in the FAH section which exists for many reasons, one of them being to have only well-informed Folders help people out.
Nobody but dman, me, G3RG, Eagle/Patriot, derick, and maybe someone else in this thread (can't be bothered to read through it again) know what we're saying.
Please, I beg of you, ignore srsparky and one-shot. Please. That's what I'm doing.
In fact if OP lets me make a recommendation, I'd recommend having this thread locked by PMing a staff member of this section and making it again in the FAH section where only knowledgeable people will help you.
Thanks all.

Guys. Seriously everyone who doesn't fold get the hell out of here.

I own a 48 core 4P 6174 setup and I paid $3000 for it, I get 600K PPD. With a 2P Intel E5 setup that would cost me at least $5000 I would get around 350K PPD. End of discussion.

That's not why you're worthless and ignorant.
It's more of because you have no idea about anything to do with Folding and yet insist that you know better.
