Yeah, it might be the fault of Windows 8 then... I couldn't get VMs of Win8 working at all either. 64 and 32 bit, developer and consumer, any combo of those would give me BSOD or crash in some other way, using VMWare and VirtualBox.

Sorry we couldn't get it to work. Its not fantastic anyway.

In the UEFI usually under boot options it has two choices for the same usb ir DVD, UEFI: "device name" or just "device name." have you only booted from the installer via the "device name" option or the UEFI: "device name"?
