It's definitely not fake and is real. It was recorded by the SDO and I'm sure there are several other agencies besides NASA that have recorded this on other systems/telescopes/satellites.
Seriously - no matter what it is, if it's a huge 'sun spot' and releases a huge CME - then the movie 'Knowing' isn't far off. frown.gif
Forget the conspiracy theories and just think about what a hole that size could spit out..... eek.gif

hehe xD would be a good joke though xD

umm well i cant see any infomation directly from NASA, just the image on the SDO website, which tells me their either really worried about it or arnt worried at all.

And tbh its far out of my control and for that reason i aint worrying smile.gif

Well it's size makes it dangerous when it makes a CME, just think if it formed a CME that spewed out along it's whole axis for a full rotation of the sun. It would be like a water soaker aimed in our direction and just spinning till it lines up on us and splat. Be more like a CME volcanoe, be nice to watch until molten plasma seared the earth.

I dunno what CME is but i get what your saying, but again its well out of the control of humans or anyone else, so lets just not care biggrin.gif

EDIT: BAM
even if it did CME i just read that happens 3 times not on this scale ofcourse.
