Connect External HDD to front panel USB3.0 ports and DVD Drive Disappears in Windows?

Hey Everyone,

Upgraded some parts to what is listed in my sig rig. The mobo has internal usb3.0 headers, and came with a front panel adapter, so you can move USB3.0 headers to a 3.5" expansion bay at the front of the case, which I did

However, I noticed that whenever I connect something to the front USB3.0 port (my usb 3.0 external HDD for backups, etc), my DVD burner disappears from Windows?

I was even burning a dvd, and connected my external HDD to the front usb port while it was burning and a message came up that the dvd drive is missing and to reconnect..as soon as I removed the HDD from the front port, it was fine...

Obviously there is a conflict somewhere, can anyone help me out with how to figure it out? Thanks so much!

If you need any more info, please let me know

Anyone have any ideas or ever experience something like this before?
