Here’s a glimpse at the future of racing. It’s called the Nissan DeltaWing and it’s part road racer, part salt-flat runner, and looks like a modern interpretation of the Keaton-era Batmobile. Not only is it lighter and more aerodynamic than the rest of the endurance racing field, it uses half the fuel, which not only makes it more environmentally friendly, but more competitive. And against all odds, it’s coming to the only race that matters: the 24 Hours of LeMans.

When did racing cars get two seats? Another point for the batmobile idea.

just looking at it, i would think this thing would be terrible in a crash.

Looks like it would be alright on the salt flats, but wouldn't think it would handle very well. long wheel base along with different width of the wheels.

Doesn't look like it corners all that great, always looks like he's going to lose it. They also only ran it on the flat sections of track, no elevation changes.

Well theres reason to believe it can't drive effectively, it's really long and narrow. It can't possibly turn on a track. It just doesn't have the right stance, wide short cars are awesome, like impreza's which is why they are used as rally cars. Champ cars are the same, short and wide stance with tires slung way out to give it the sharpest turns while staying low and stable. So this one car is saying it's the best when nascar and such have been racing for so long and know what makes a good fast car that is manuverable.
