Mouse and keyboard stop working

So pretty much i got my new rig last night, after hours of trying to figure out why it wouldn't boot i managed to get it to start up. Installed windows and everything was fine. Got in and was install anti virus and everything then i saw i had some how install x86 instead of x64 doh.gif

Each time i i put the windows CD in i get to the BIOS ( mouse and keyboard still work ) i go down to boot from CD and soon as it says press any button to boot from CD my keyboard and mouse stop working headscratch.gif

Tried two different keyboards and neither work frown.gif

Any tips or ideas on how i can get around this? Tried running the CD from inside windows but because it's x64 windows will not run it.

Cheers for the help

Check BIOS settings, you may have to enable USB keyboard support. It will probably be under the advanced tab.

Or you can try switching to a standard PS/2 connection if possible. I'm not sure why you still wouldn't be able to get into the BIOS this way.

If you can find a PS/2 keyboard, keep it connected and just reset the CMOS. If you're able to get into the BIOS after that, check your USB settings to make sure Legacy USB is enabled. Once that's enabled, go ahead and switch over to the USB mouse/keyboard and you should be good to go.

If all else fails, you can always reformat rolleyes.gif
