Why an X800? Isn't an onboard VGA good enough?

You definatly dont need an X800, maybe an X550 at MOST hehe. A low end video card would just take some load off the ram and cpu.

Ok, and I was thinking of a S-ATA Western Digital Caviar Edition 200 gb. Would that be a good choice? Because I heard tat HD with 200 gb are faster than HD's with same speeds but lower diskspace than that.

There's the Caviar 16 250GB. It has the 16mb cache which is erally nice. But would he really need anything more then 160Gb?

3700 1 gig of ram and a 160 gig HD. I used an old video card I had laying around but the onboard graphics work just fine, all that was 470 including shipping, the only things i had were the graphics card, floppy drive and XP Pro.
