Best Case Fans - Page 4

Thread Starter
I ordered a ton of them to make this work out. I have at least 3 120mm (2 front, 1 back) and 2 140mm (side) to install, and possibly 2 extras to mount to the hard drive cage. I have a spool of fan wire and pins to make my own extensions, and hope to have everything connected to my fan controller.

I have both and then just ordered some gentle typhoons to compare.. If you want to wait to monday I will let you know if there really worth it wink.gif

Yeah, that was my experience as well. One other thing that I noticed with the slipstreams is that they aren't really as well built. I had an Antec 1200 full of them and by the time that I swapped them out a few of them would click until the bearing warmed up. They did move some serious air. I wouldn't use them for rad or heatsink fans but they make good case fans.

The yates on the other hand I used for far longer and for a while horizontally and I've yet to have one start acting up. That said I did switch to a lower speed version. Even still at ~1300 rpm they were pretty quiet which surprised me. Yate loons really are great fans for the price.

Cheaper here.

There are a couple of different types of yate loons. Those have a smaller motor and aren't as good as the ones that sell for $5 or $6 at jab-tech or petra's tech shop.

The sticker on the front is a dead giveaway. You won't see that on the fans with the larger motor.

I have the Slip Streams on top of my case and they move the most air out of all my other fans. All of my other fans are Cooler Master 120mm. The Slip Streams are not that loud even when I turn them up to 100%, they make noise, but it is not annoying. If you are gaming then you have sound going or head phones on so you will never hear them.
