Is Bulldozer good for gaming? - Page 25

This thread has gone off the track so bad there' s no way back. The thread was is Bulldozer good for gaming not is Intel better for gaming. This is pointless. And again GPU's play a huge part in performance, everybody really forgets that in these discussions. Like I posted before an AMD 8150 FX with a 6970 is ALWAYS going to outperform a 2600k with a 560 GTX. So GPUS really determine how a game is going to perform. So we also have to mention that more in these topics.

Again the Intel fanners need to realize this. They should also know in these pissing contests that it's still cheaper if someone already owns an FX MOBO to just stay there then to have to buy another MOBO and CPU for a whopping 15% increase on a handful of poorly threaded games. AGAIN with a good GPU AMD CPUS can easily reach the 60 FPS and thats as high as it's goes for most people. So all that extra power is only going to count ion bench tests..And whats that 8150 doing,, only playing BF3 on ULTRA at 60 fps.. so that should answer the question, Bulldozers ARE GOOD FOR GAMING

AMD 8150 6970

2500k 6970

Skip the benches and the BS they both play the SAME,,,,,,,SO this as REAL as it gets. 2500k fan boys PLEASE stop embarrassing yourselfs and posting your limited knowledge on PC's for the world to read becasue I'm not intrested. PS,, I own a 2600k, theres no reason for me to speak anything but the truth.

Why cant more Intel owners be like you? Hell, why cant they simply be more open minded. You dont see this kind of BS coming from amd owners as much as it comes from the Intel crowd. Afterall, they only hurt themselves in romanticizing about an Intel monopoly.

I have also had the chance to own the 955BE and 1100T and try the 8150 so I know about the performance of AMD CPU's and APU's, so it's just the truth, there are others here too that have had both but I think they focus to much on the Bench tests and the silly graphs you see posted here and not real world performance, which is why I posted ACTUAL game footage from both so people can see how silly this whole debate is

No one is arguing in BF3 they aren't the same. It's *CPU* limited games where the 2500k kicks the crap out of Bulldozer. Look at SC2 videos with the same GPUs and that will show you the difference.

when you say It's *CPU* limited games we are only talking about a couple of poorly coded games,, thats all you have,, So everybody should abondon AMD becasue SC2 was coded better for intel.. 99% of games max out and run 60 fps on AMD,, the 1 or 2 that don't isn't because of the CPU ot was becasue of how the game was coded. SC2 could have been coded to run better on FX if they wanted it too. People said skyrim was a cpu based game, and it turned out the that game ran like crap for alot of reasons on Intel and AMD, and BTW skyrim ran fine on my 1100T

So...what's your point. The 2500k is faster you even agree. For the same price the choice is obvious. Even games that aren't CPU limited are usually slightly better on Intel. Minimum frames esepcially. I'm sure you read the article posted in the thread were the 2500k was faster by 20% on average.

Let's put it this way the difference between a 680 and 7970 is smaller then the difference between the 8150 and 2500k. For the same price point the choice is obvious in both cases.

My point is the pointless hyjacking of threads like this,, the above poster is posting ads on 2550k so OFF TOPIC it's ridiculous and needless solicitation. This was an AMD thread which was askinig if Bulldozers were good for gaming, and the op wanted to know about an FX chip. The 2500k isn't 20% faster then a 8150 and a member took the time to Bench both and answered that
http://www.overclock.net/t/1210060/fx8120-vs-2500k-benchmark-results

This thread again was NEVER ABOUT, prices or bench test results. Sorry but these 2500k owners are starting to act crazy almost like a cult telling people half truths and opinions that most people DON'T WANT TO READ.

My point is there's no need to hyjack threads with off topic answers and remarks. Most of these are from old test results and heavily one sided bench tests.

I will agree with you on general cpu speeds but that isnt what the thread was about, after you get 60 FPS it doesn't matter after that.

The OP had an AM3 MB and was looking for an AMD chip. LoL thumb.gif

Do all AM3 MBs run bulldozers? I thought BD were AM3+?
