Get the single 7970. You won't run BF3 on all Ultra at Eyefinity resolutions, but you should manage near Ultra (no AA). I'm at 2560x1600 with mine, and I have yet to find a game I cannot max out except GTA IV (driver issues). Metro2033, haven't tried, BF3 I haven't tried.

For monitors, try to shoot for the Dell 2312HM's. wink.gif They've got some of the smallest bezels in the budget monitor range, and you can do landscape or portrait with them easily.

honestly you're best off waiting for nvidia's next-gen cards to release in the coming weeks. regardless of performance, they'll drop radeon prices.

if you need something now, i'd recommend 6970x2. if you get lucky you might find people selling cards for $200.

how about 7950 OC CF?

You're looking at medium with Ultra textures for acceptable framerates in BF3 in eyefinity.

Well the reason I was thinking of doing 7870's x2 is because u can overclock them and they are a few fps away from a 7950....and I can score two of them for 150$ more than a 7970....

$150 more, and the 7970 will be faster and cheaper, and with less issues. Do yourself a favor, stick with the strongest single GPU card that will do what you want for now. The 7970 is an absolute monster, and its only going to get cheaper (so you can potentially crossfire it later on).
