Purchasing a PS3 still pays off? - Page 2

I got a fantastic deal on PS3 less than 9 month ago and I love it. I don't play it everyday, but for me it's great even for Hulu Plus and Netflix. The Hulu Plus app for the PS3 even runs better and is more streamlined than it is on the PC. Not to mention, the game exclusives. The Uncharted series is stupid fun, and that's just one.

If there are PS3 exclusive games that you would enjoy playing then it might still be worth it. I do wish the latest Twisted Metal had been released on PC. smile.gif

I love my ps3. granted I haven't really fired it up for gaming since I built my computer, (I guess i have a few times for gran turismo 5) but it gets used daily as a blueray player/dvd/netflix type of thing. I really need to get a hold of a copy of the new twisted metal, those games were my entire childhood.

As far as consoles go, its definitely the best there is right now. and I don't know why I've always hated xboxes. I honestly don't have a good reason, I just don't like them.

back on topic, it wouldn't be a waste for your money by a long shot because I think they will continue to make games for ps3 well into the ps4 era, but like people have said before me, you might just hang out and wait to see when its gonna roll onto the shelves. save up some money for it in the process. if sony makes a jump from 3 to 4 like they did from 2 to 3 it will be one epic piece of hardware.

I'd buy a used one, but used PS3s cost 150-200€ here, that's not much cheaper, and most of them are over 1 year old.
Maybe if I find a good deal somewhere, I'll go for it, but surely not for the prices now, especially since I'd only be playing 2-3 games.

There are some games you just can't get on PC, and most of those happen to be on PS3. Games like GoW, MAG, Resistance, infamous, lbp, gt5, uncharteds, ect. You just wont find these on PC... might as well have both and have it GOOD smile.gif.

Very true, now I wish I hadn't bought my computer, at least not this expensive, I haven't been playing that much with it anyway.

Glad that We aren't alone.. Yeah I can feeling yours.

I just started to hate PC Digital games, the reason I wanted to save some games checkpoint, it require the internet connection before quit the games.

I picked mines up a few months ago for £160, used at a local Cash Convertor. It is a Slim one at 250GB.
Mind, I do have a 360 too. Decided to pick up a PS3 for the free online gaming and Blu-Ray playing capabilities.
I've also attached it to my monitor. (See my very recent thread in this sub-forum.)

For sound, I just went out and bought a 2.1 system that came with RCA input (for PS3) along with standard headphone jack (for the computer).

For me, it's kinda worth it, I don't do much serious gaming anywhere anyway, so a PS3 is a good stop for some quick action.

You should really look into buying a used one, have you tried online sites like Gumtree (my personal fave). You can search out people around your area to avoid any posting risks.

Btw- you would know if you really need a PS3 now or not. Cos, whenever I want something, I usually want it so bad, I don't ask. If you have to ask, I think you should perhaps give it a miss, for now.
