Hey guys, I have been looking at this forum for quite a bit and went on vacation to Cali and one of my friends had an HTPC and I am thinking I am finally going to pull the triger on it. Just have a couple of questions when it comes to parts I have and parts I needs to get. I have really been looking at a Llano setup but if I can build it first with my existing parts plus a couple things I need to get then I would rather do that since it is cheaper for the time being. Most of the music and videos are going to be streamed. It is going to be on a wireless network until I can drop a cat 6 to it.
Here is what I have.
Old 650W CoolerMaster PSU (I know it isn't the best and I was looking at modular or some cases come with PSU's
8GB Patriot DDR3 1333 7-7-7
955BE C2 Phenom II
VRaptor 150GB HD
H50 Corsair (If I can fit it in. If not stock cooling)
9800GT
My mother board is shot that was on the 955. So i will need a new Motherboard, case, and I am going to get a blu ray player. Also going to run Linux for the time being. I have been playing around with it a lot in Virtual box. I guess my questions would be:
1) If I get a motherboard with on board graphics will it be enough to run everything and not need the 9800? Will this allow sound to run through also?
2) Is there something I am missing? Seems like I had more questions but now I can't think of them!
3) Think just going with a combo Llano/MB would be better in terms of performance?

In fact peeps have used the earlier HD 3200 IGP on 780G mobos for years now
