Games to play cooperatively with my non-gamer wife - Page 2

Magicka is pretty easy and extremly fun to play co-op. Someone before me already suggested Portal 2. Dungeon Defenders I know a lot of females that play this, Sanctum is another.

Those are just some games that a lot of non gamer types of people play. I have friends to do not game but enjoy those titles.

MMO games are great way to get a Non-gamer wife into the mix of things, she can go at her own pace and what not and you'll be there if help is needed. it's almost like how i was with my sisters they weren't to much into games but played MMO's and they got into the jist of things and they played more games outside the realm of MMO's like Mortal Kombat, CoD (my youngest atleast) , DOOM Multiplayer, ect.. biggrin.gifthumb.gif

get a ps3. it has helped me and my wife a lot. she games with me on the sports campions game and also, on a game called peggle. she also watches me play uncharted(set) which is kinda funny. says its like watching me play a movie. also, wii has some really fun family games that might get her into it.

Some people are not gamer's. As you have already said it is obvious you are a gamer and your wife is not. This comes up quite a lot in these forums. If your partner is not a gamer why are you trying to make her play video games? Perhaps you should find things that both you and her like. Or you could be a man and do more things she likes? No offense at all meant. It's just like if she were to try to get you outside gardening for the weekends expecting it to become a hobby of yours. I doubt its gonna stick.
But if you really want something to play... Minecraft? Personally I much rather would watch a movie on the sofa, or cook a woman a nice meal, take her out to some nice parks and outdoors, and maybe get some action. But never would I try to get my girlfriend to play video games unless she asked me to.

Hey guys, is Don Juan DeMarco himself! Thanks for the wise words wisdom you Casanova you.

Trine, trine 2, both players on the same screen. Really, I agree with others that console is probably a far easier way for people to get into video games.

I'm going with the few others and saying Portal 1/2. Should be great fun. There is also Mari0 (http://stabyourself.net/mari0/#download). Epic fun game. It's original Super Mario with Portal guns. You can choose to do the Portal maps or the Mario maps or create your own. Supports Local playing up to 4 atm and is coming out with online play as well. Me and 2 friends played and laughed our butts off for 3 hours the day it was released. They've already patched it 5 times too which is awesome.

Tekkan was a hit with my wife - along with pretty much any Wii game

I think MMO's would be a great idea - one I might try but its the time aspect that would throw her off as she doesn't have much of it

Well whichever path you choose best of luck to you and yours thumb.gif

Edit: thought of some more

A lot of simulators are good: tropico, sim city, cities in motion, civilization

Find something that plays to her interests: comedies, horrors, history, whatever

Ha your wife sounds like mine.

I been a gamer my whole life. Got a nintendo when I was 5 and that what that. I met my wife right before I joined the Marines and was more into girls than games. Then I got to my duty station and every one gamed. Got back into it and never looked back. My wife never really understood why I enjoyed it so much. Then I was told about an mmo called world of warcraft in 2004. My wife hates that game so much. I spent way to many hours playing it, kinda my fault. So i understand, it sucks when you have such a time consuming hobby and your significant other dosen't enjoy it.

My wife does enjoy some of the mini games on the wii and and anything named tekken/tekken tag. So I try and take time to play those once and a while. Other than that, I would say try and take her on a date to an arcade or dave and busters if you have one. Like any relathionship, there are trade offs. My wife is all about fashion and shopping. I hate shopping, but I go with her. Like others have said try and get a game you think she might like sims, mario party, ect.
