Another, yet final, specifications were leaked along with a chart of performance comparison between GeForce GTX 680 and Radeon HD 7970. GeForce GTX 680 is up to 40% faster than Radeon HD 7970 in Battlefield 3. What is important, this chart was based on 2 month old benchmarks posted by PCINLIFE.

Wow look at the TDP~!

They took too long and the performance doesn't warrant price IMO. I'll be waiting for the next generation

Do want cant wait biggrin.gif
Hm 15% faster on average than the 7970 if this is true. Not unbelievable.

I'd be surprised if the TDP was really 195W though. Nvidia doesn't have much of a history of low-power, low-heat cards.

This does seem to be too little too late though; AMD can release a 1100MHz 7970 tomorrow if they want

The reason the TDP is low is because GK104 was supposed to be Nvidia's midrange GPU, as evidenced by the 256-bit memory interface.

the problem with that kind of thinking is why would nvidia release another ~$800 single-GPU card (a la 8800 Ultra) when one could easily acquire two 7950s or 7970s (assuming the price goes down after GK104 drops) for a similar price?

I love NVIDIA, but I honestly don't think that it's reasonable to believe that NVIDIA can match a 7970 with this card -- performance per watt would have to be out of this world.
