I think the only truly DOA / defective hardware I've gotten in the last 4 years was a set of budget DDR2. And I buy ALOT of stuff, both new and used.

But I'm not buying Rosewill crap either, or $35 PSUs. And you can buy used smart too if you pick stuff that was high-end when new.

Same here. No new DOA hardware - ever in 20+ years of building highend PCs. As you, I don't buy crap brand products though.

I wish I could get a $1 for each good component returned DOA. wink.gif

This is the main reason that I buy only used motherboards. I wait about a year, so there can be enough reviews to influence my decision on stability. Then I buy one on Ebay that's been working without any problems, and then I can completely avoid the possibility of a DOA.
