FX-8120 @ 4.5GHz, What Voltage Do You Use?

Thread Starter
This baby came in today and almost immediately I was at 4.1 GHz on stock voltage settings. (1.39V). However, it took 1.50V (Load) to get it stable at 4.5GHz. My water cooling setup went from 40°C Max with a 1090T @ 4.1GHz, to 60°C Max with the 8120, so its barely hanging in there. What voltages are you guys using to reach 4.5GHZ 24/7?

Mine gets 4.63GHz @ 1.4v and 4.73GHz @ 1.425v on a GA-990FXA-UD3 v1.0. My idle temps are 31c and load maxed at 51c.

You're not the only one, I'm running 233 x 20 for 4.6 GHz @ 1.46 V with < 40 C load temps on a full water loop, any less voltage and folding crashes, but I can drop down to 1.43 V and pass OCCT and Prime95 perfectly fine.

I haven't even bothered going above 240 FSB, my RAM is very picky when it strays too far from 1866 MHz. 1920 is about as far as she likes to go. I guess I could try ~270 which could give my ~1800 on the 1333 MHz multiplier.

Maybe I'll have a little more fun tweaking tonight.

What do you have NB and HT at for frequency and CPU-NB, NB, HTT, VDDA for voltage?

for 4.8Ghz I use 1,51v with LLC-25%
and to keep at 4.6Ghz I need as low as 1.45v with LLC-off
I was able to clock at 5Ghz under 1,50 volts but wasn't stable for heavy rendering.
I rise FSB clock just to keep my memory at 2000Mhz speed, and yes overclock FSP brings lots of heat.

Hmm, with my settings, anything but 50% LLC resulted in Windows crashing before the desktop.
