I'm thinking a HD6870 1gb. Which on a full load on cpu (FX-4100 @ 4.0ghz) & video card it should be around 400- 450 watts at the wall.

Which would be about ~330 W from the PSU smile.gif

actually that seems high. My old i7 970 @ 4.2 and a GTX 470 maxed out at 458W at the wall

Just grab a CX 430, Antec Earthwatts Green 430, or the Rosewill Green 430 (they're all basically the same thing). Grab the cheapest one out of those 3. They'll all do your plan just fine with quite a bit of spare room. I honestly HIGHLY doubt you'll be anywhere NEAR 400w at the wall. I'll bet more towards 200-250w.

So any of those 3 430 watts will work even with a HD6870?

It will handle that with ease. Hell, my own CX500 v2 on my HTPC can power up my sig rig and keep it at full load without complaining.

should be fine with a 430 watts the 6870 uses 140-150 watts around stock speed so thats about ~280-300 for everything else

Yeah, you'll be fine with either of them.... the Earthwatts Green 430 is the best unit of the three while the Green 430 from Rosewill is the quietest.
