I've been having this strange issue with my two 5850's on crossfire and 3 monitors. I'm running 2 x 22" and 30" The 30" is a dual link dvi cable, other 22inch is HDMI to DVI single link and the last one is displayport to displayport.

My third monitor blacks out after a random amount of time, this could be days or hours or just minutes.

The display is not detected by the card and can't be connected.

If I take the problem display and plug it to another pc it works fine, I had it running for 48 hours to test if its the problem. clearly the monitor is perfectly fine.

Something triggers my 5850 to ignore the HDMI port entirely and noting attached to it can be connected. Only way to get it to work again is to disconnect the hdmi cable from the videocard and unplug the display for few hours, then the card typically detects the display again.

12.2 / 3 drivers

any ideas?
