I wanted to smash this guy in the face after I watched this... - Page 9

The virus thing is like the Apple go-to argument and its getting pretty tired. I run Windows 7 Home Premium with MSE and I have never gotten any kind of infection in over two years. I also practice very poor safety on the web (d/l from random sites, click on questionable links, etc). I'll give the Mac the aesthetics, they are great looking machines, but I'd much rather get the enjoyment out of picking out my parts and building the computer myself rather than just opening a box and plugging it in. Maybe that's just me though...

I run no av and have no problems. And If I do get a virus, it's probably time for a os reinstall anyway.

He had two good points.

The point about when a company puts the effort forward to make their machines look good, they care about how they perform also. This is true, but the only problem with this arguement is, that situation isn't limited to macs. There are other companies that make PCs that do the same. Example, IBM and thinkpads.

His second true point was about custom builds being better for poeple who like to tweet, this is so true. But I think they are good for more then that. I can't argue with my 400 dollar SB celeron build that performs perfectly.

other then that, he is a total idiot.

oh and he is right about the macs reselling very well, but that is only because the people buying them are idiots, so you can sell them for more.

anybody who knows anything about Macs knows they're only good for one thing. Consistent color profiles due to all the screens being calibrated to the same spec (color temperature, contrast, brightness ect.)

If that makes you want to smash his face, you have anger issues.

Honestly I am fine with Mac's.

It's people like him trying to tell me I'm dumb for paying half the price than his Mac, customizing to how I want, and it still being faster that gets me.
