BenQ XL2410/11/20 Club - Page 25

I spent about twelve hours calibrating my display and I finally give up. 120Hz is great but the colors are nowhere as good as my previous Samsung 24" TN. Will be sending this back unfortunately frown.gif

I should receive a new one tomorrow.

I should know pretty early if the new one have the problem or not as I'm able to replicate it fairly easily. After a complete night it never work in the moring and I always have to hardreset it.

After tuning to suggested value you also need to put the ICC profile and enable it. As soon as I clicked the new ICC file, the display was different.

http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/icc_profiles.htm#the_database for the ICC file and http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/icc_profiles.htm#install to install. You can use the one click utility http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/downloads/DisplayProfile.zip once the ICC file is copied to the proper directory.

Right. Please post back your results as soon as you are able to replicate the problem or not smile.gif Thanks!

They replaced it and everything is working perfectly now biggrin.gif

In the vid he shows how his buttons kept flashing like crazy. I believe this is due to left over oil's from your fingers making the sensor got crazy. Someone had either posted in this thread or the Available January 18th thread about how they had that issue and cleaning of the benzel to remove the oils resolved their issue.

Already did that. Colors looked washed out regardless if I use the ICC profile or not. Like I mentioned in one of my previous posts, even my four year old laptop looks better than my current monitor (no joke). I went ahead and requested an RMA through Tigerdirect and it will take at least three days before they can get back with me. If all goes well, I'll be able to get a full refund minus the money I lose from shipping it back to them. sad-smiley-002.gif

Edit: On a side note, is it possible that games are not applying my custom calibration settings? I just came across this injector but am weary to try it out.

I also think the colors on this monitor suck badly. Like you said my work laptop (has a terrible TN panel) has better colors than this monitor. I'm gonna try to buy a calibrator myself (which one would you guys recommend?) to see if I can get better color out of it.

Hmmm, ok. So this isn't problem after all? Cleaning the bezel will immediately resolve the problem.

Really only the x-rite colour munkie (190$) or i1 display pro/3 (250$) should be considered since they are the most accurate jonesumer grade colorimeters. Callman offers an i1 display bundle with their program which provides very detailed results, or you can just buy the standalone model which works with HCFR and basICColor 5.

After calibration the BenQ offers pretty good performance, I have no complaints except for the purple tint and anti-glare coating. It seems like every display these days comes with some sort of colour dominance which can't be rectified. The S23A700D also had a purple tinge while my Asus VG236H is too green.

Yes, a lot of games don't apply the ICC profile.
