It's a TN panel, so the viewing angles aren't suited for portrait mode.

I am thinking about buying the BenQ XL2420T. I just got a Asus PA248Q which is a E-IPS panel. Well its great but the backlight bleed I do not like. I play BF3 and was really thinking about taking the plunge with 120HZ. How good is the color on the monitor, I know its a TN panel but their are good TN panels and really bad ones how does the Benq compare? Also can you run Displayport at 120hz? And are their any problems with backlight bleed on these monitors, and last but not least what color is the power LED, is it blue? I can return the Asus for a full refund it was #340. The Benq is about $380. I'm just worried about bad color shift and bad backlight bleed

I think the BenQ has average colors. Yes, DisplayPort should support 120 Hz. My monitor has no backlight bleed, but others have not been as fortunate, I believe. The power LED is blue IIRC.

I'm getting motion blur playing the Xbox 360 through my current monitor. Looking for a new monitor that will blur as little as possible. Its between this and a Samsung sa23a750, someone make my mind up for me please :d

Also do you have to hook up that little square looking box to the stand or can you leave it off? I think I may go for the Benq. Although in the past I have really only used IPS monitors so I hope I am not in for a shock with the benq in terms of really bad colors. I would say I usually use my monitor 40% for gaming 40% for web surfing and 20% for movies or tv shows.

I just can't decide. I have always heard TN panels really suck at colors and color shift. I do have a spyder 4 pro color calibrator so that would help. What about color shift does it do that alot on the Benq if yo are not looking dead center at it? The game I play is BF3 and skyrim I assume that it would play great on the benq...Also I keep hearing that the benq has ghosting? How is that even possible with 2MS response time and 120HZ I don't get that. My Asus PA248Q has 6MS response time and I see no ghosting at all..

How is the ag coating on the Benq? I have read some people saying its worse than the Dell IPS monitors. Is that really true?
