Right for those of you looking to buy, I've owned my XL2420 for 3 weeks now and I can honestly say its amazing. Going from 60hz to 120hz is like buying a new graphics card or processor. It practically solved micro stuttering , everything moves so much smoother and the colours are so nice once you get used to it. Out of the box it doesn't look great, but with PC Monitors settings on Page 1 it looks fantastic. I can now run all my games without vsync and I get no screen tear and silky smooth performance. With 60hz I used to get tear all the time, micro stutter and motion just didn't feel right. With 120hz games really shine. Even moving the mouse around the screen you can notice a big difference between 60hz and 120hz.
On the desktop it looks good, very slightly washed out but nothing I wouldn't class as unacceptable.
Xbox 360 via HDMI was a little blurry but I discovered setting sharpness to 10 (which is max setting) makes everything crystal clear. Graphics on xbox look so much better with this monitor compared to my last.
The monitor itself is really well designed, it can move in every way thinkable and I love the fact it has a height adjuster on it just by pulling up or pushing down so when I use my Logitech G25 wheel I can push the monitor up, sit low at the desk and still see the full screen. Before the wheel blocked my view of the bottom quarter of the screen and I couldn't sit comfortably. F1 2012 with this monitor and setup is just beautiful.
I picked mine up for £272 which I thought was a bargain.
Not tried 3D yet, but did see it in store with a pair of original NVidia 3d glasses and it looked awesome. Would love to try it out with a pair of the 2nd gen glasses NVidia have released.
When I first got it I was blown away, then I was a little disappointed at sharpness and colours but once I tried the PC Monitor settings as described in the OP, I fell in love and have been ever since. Best purchase since my GTX 670.

lol I felt the same way!!

I just ordered this monitor off of newegg yesterday, they had some in stock and to my surprise they actually sold out within a few hours. What I am wondering is do I have to use a dual link dvi cable? Or is that for only if I am utilizing the 3d capabilities of this monitor?

If you want 120Hz, you need dual link dvi cable. Why worry? It comes with a dual link dvi cable anyway.

the Overdrive thing is driving me nuts...

I don't know if i should sell this and get a Sammy or Asus or wait until the XL2430t next year or hopefully a better 3rd Gen 120hz panel or 144hz if those get any traction.

I don't understand how BenQ can make a 120hz display then fudge up the AMA Overdrive feature. The worst thing is they don't give you an option to reduce it (only to remove it) i think if they tuned it to be less aggressive even at the expense of some motion blur it would have been much better.

XL2411T seems great though, seems to run at 144Hz and has AMA setting controls but it's only sold in the UK frown.gif

The reason i hate it soo much is because even the most fluid scenes are ruined by the black trailing which makes the image look jittery and crappy and brings down the 120hz goodness afew levels.
