64-bit if you want to utilize more than ~3.2 GB of RAM.

Only use 32-bit if your motherboard can't support more than 4 GB of RAM

While you probably don't technically need 64bit for your purposes,
and depending on exactly what you're activities are,
using 32bit could avoid a compatibility issue here and there...

But you might as well get use to 64bit OS anyway.
You will be wanting access to more than 3.5GB of RAM eventually.

i agree get 64bit, and as mentioned you can upgrade to more RAM... you can still run 32bit apps on a 64bit OS but not the other way round not that that matters as most apps usally come in both flavors.. only problem i eve had with a 64bit OS/system was at my Uni, for a unit i did in advanced calculus they gave us a learning aid that was only a 16bit old app i couldn't run it on our 64bit systems..

long story short get a 64bit OS

[edit] even though your board is a 970A-UD3 which is a 64bit board so you can use a 64bit OS but you cant install more than 3.5GB of ram if you have a 32bit OS as the OS cant address more than theoritical 4GB, 3.5GB after overhead

64 > 32

so obviously 64-bit must be greater. smile.gif

64-bit for 4GB RAM or higher!
Also, VRAM adds to the count.
