When it comes to other tablets I don't really care about screen or CPU performance. I was going to get a 7" device till my wife put her foot down and said either 10" or nothing... women rolleyes.gif

I haven't used iTunes with my iPad in months. It updates over wifi so unless you really want to add music to it there's no need. Plus I'm sure there are other programs that do it.

As for the resolution. When I use my iPad 2 I can see the pixels and it really bugs me, pixels being 1/4 the size should definitely help but I'll probably wait for the one next year.

Have any of you that actually have the new one noticed increased charging time? Using an old charger or regular USB (even gigabytes 3x power) ones takes forever to charge my iPad fully. The increased amps of the apple charger works a ton better but I can't seem to find mine and it doesn't fit well in surge protectors. I feel like the new battery being almost 2x the capacity would take days to charge on old style ports.

You've got a 2500K with a 7950, and you'd rather play games on your iPad?

Are iPad games better than PC games too?

Is it wrong to enjoy gaming on different platforms? Its kinda hard to game on a desktop while I'm on a flight or at the airport, for example.

No one ever reads the title of my sig rig tongue.gif

That aside, I do have a system I can play games on and yes, I can say I'd definitely play a few games on my HDTV. Sky Gamblers: Air Supremacy is one of them, it's a brilliant game with fantastic graphics, and the multiplayer mode is pretty sweet. Modern Combat 3 is another I'd play too. And don't forget Real Racing 2 and Infinity Blade 2 biggrin.gif

Believe it or not, not all games are computer games.

iPad 3 has a screen resolution 2048 x 1536. Thats higher resolution than can be perceived by the human eye. The human eye cannot tell the difference between My ASUS Transformer Prime tablet with an HD resolution of 1280x800 and the newly announced Transformer 700T with a resolution of 1920x1200 if you are holding it more than 14" from your face.

The human eye cannot even see the difference ...between 1080P and 4K resolution unless you are sitting closer than 10 feet and the screen is 77" or larger. And Apple decides to make a product with a 1080P+ screen on a <10" device. And ASUS trying to keep up announces their 1080P+ screen on their new tablet.

So tablet manufacturers are going to continue to play a numbers game where they make the resolutions so preposterously high that all they are doing is burning your battery faster and eating away at your performance to fuel a resolution that you can't perceive anyways. Sure, that makes sense.

As for the video

The video was pretty bad, and I hate Apple. What a terrible sample for this video. A girl who has never seen an ipad, a girl who refused to say whether it was better than the ipad 2, and 2 others who gave the answers the questioner wanted them to because he was asking leading questions.

I checked out the new iPad to see what the fuss was about at Best Buy. I held it up next to the iPad 2 and couldn't see the difference. I pretty much had to mash my face into the glass to notice it. My girlfriend agreed.

Every single person who came to the display had to ask the Best Buy employees which one was which. It's not obvious at a glance; people just love fawning over new Apple gear. I really wanted it to be an amazing experience since this was the first time I've been interested in an Apple product in a long time, but I was sorely disappointed.
