[Gizmodo] We Gave People an iPad 2, Told Them It Was the New iPad, and They Loved It - Page 4

I've only used iPads in the apple store, if someone gave me an ipad 2 and told me it was an ipad 3 I would have no reason to not believe them.

If you've used an ipad 2 and can't tell that what someone puts in front of you isn't an ipad 3, there must not be much of a difference. How you can say that the last two have "probably never seen an ipad before" is beyond me.

Apple Fanboys are just too easy. Galaxy Tab 7.7 is a perfect example of that.

They always see the PenTile matrix on the RGB Strip screen. They always think the cinematic bars are bezel. And of course the iPad screen is better.

I completely disregard all smartphone/tablet news, it's just editors throwing a slab of meat out for ravenous idiots... I mean dogs, I forgot I was still running with a metaphor there.

This, one of the reasons I don't take Gizmodo seriously.

People pay hundreds of dollars for 10-20 more FPS. And I can't tell the difference when I play a game...... rolleyes.gif

apps aren't coded yet to take advantage of the new display's resolution. My sister's school gave them ipad2s and honestly...they are alright but I got a hold of an ipad3 today for a few hrs and man that thing is think and heavy!! i mean it feels solid but dam its heavy!!

You can tell the difference of .6mm and 1.8oz??? You must be a super hero, the human measuring scale.

A 10 foot screen? For $1000? That's a steal!

Sigh.

The ipad 3's screen isn't some marketing gimmick. If you've ever seen one, it DOES look fantastic.

And yet people can't tell the difference unless you put them side by side.

Hold up.. These people clearly state that they are not frequent users of ipads. This whole thing makes no sense. Of course if you walk up to someone with a nice piece of computer hardware and a camera and ask them what they think theyre going to give you an answer like that. I can understand what they were trying to accomplish, but cmon, have nothing else better to do with your time than this?

After using it, the screen seems like it should be more in the $3-4 grand range.
These people must be blind if they can't tell that's the same screen... or they never used a ipad 2.

And it's people like this that make Apple rich smile.gif.
