Gaming build for £300 MAX? - Page 6

I'd sell you my Acer 5739g laptop for £300?

2.2ghz T6600 dual core
4gb DDR3 1066mhz RAM
GT 240m 1gb GDDR5
300gb 5400RPM HDD
Windows 7 home premium (I've whacked Ultimate on it though)

It runs MW3 & Skyrim pretty well on low/medium settings. Just needs a cooling plate! Hahaha!

Bit premature to say that it can play every game with ease without reputable benchmarks imo!

Nope. Even though £400 = $635USD doesn't mean you can get the same things. As I have said before when in the US you don't have to pay VAT when buying something online.

That laptop you posted isn't available in the UK. Something with similar specs in the UK will set you back £900 (£1200 after sale)

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/sony-vaio-vpcse1l1e-s-cek-15-5-laptop-white-11296550-pdt.html

By the way that is the closest thing they have (hardware wise) to the laptop you posted.

Yeah but that;s at the UK's worst electrical store. Try a site like ocuk etc. and you will find it cheaper.

Good point tongue.gif brb

EDIT: I can't be bothered to search properly but this is what I found with an i5-2430M and dedicated GPU

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=LT-055-MS

It's got more RAM and a bigger HDD though.

That's not really the point though, the point is you can't really compare the prices of components/laptops from an American website to a British one. The prices will all be wrong.

It's not my PC by the way, and I do agree he should add about £200 to get something decent. Used off of ebay is the best bet I reckon.
