Is there an Antec rep on the forum??

Thread Starter
Ok, from the top, I recently purchased an Antec Neo Eco 620w PSU, a semi modular design, with extra cables available when required...

The thinking behind this was to get a decent quality PSU,that would run my current setup, and then be upgradeable when I needed to add extra components....

...or so I thought!mad.gif

Turns out this power supply is a Scan UK exclusive, and they don't stock the extra cables!mad.gif

So, I go to the Antec EU/UK web pages hoping to find a link to where the extra leads can be obtained, and nothing! Individual cables can be purchased, but none of the cables shown as either available, or out of stock are listed as suitable for this PSU.

Oddly, I used the search bar on Antecs own site to try and find a little more info on the model and cables, but it does'nt even show up in their product list!

So, I decided to go looking on the interweb for answers, and found quite a few postings in other forums, from people in the same boat as me, and saw that Antec had quite a broad range of solutions for the problem, ranging from sending out a complete set of cables to one customer, at Antecs own expense, to one poor guy having over 90 emails and correspondances more ore less ignored, with still no resolution to the problem in hand!!

....and now I'm thinking Dear God, what the hell variety of White Elephant have I bought now!!mad.gif

Very long story, abruptly curtailed, what on Earth do I do now that I need another PCI-E cable to go Crossfire??

Do I chase Antec, in the hope that I can get some sort of resolution from them...do I try to find the pin out pattern of the PCI-E cable socket and try to find another manufacturers cable that shares the same pin out, or even have a go at trying to mod an existing cable to match the pin out on this PSU??

....and I cannot use a molex to PCI-E adapter, because I've already used all the existing connections on the power supply!rolleyes.gif

As someone in a different forum pointed out, this may well breach one or more distance selling regulations, so what am I to do....

I've PM'd the Antec rep that we do have. He hasn't been online since the switch to Huddler, so no idea of even when his last activity was honestly. But I gave him a link to your thread, so hopefully he'll get an email notification of that PM, and respond here for you.

Many many thanks for your replies, and supreme effort in trying to help me solve this problem!! thumb.gif

I hope things are resolved sooner rather than later, because I've always heard good things about Antec, and I dont want to void my warranty by fitting a non Antec cable !!rolleyes.gif

....and if I could find your Rep button, I would still be spamming it now!! thumb.gif

I would give them a call if you want to resolve it more quickly. I've never had an issue getting somebody on the phone from Antec if I needed support for one of their products.

This couldn't hurt either honestly, especially seeing that you're from the UK. I'm not too sure if a US representative of Antec could even really help you out or not.

Do you happen to have a picture of one of the cables that you're missing though by chance? I've got 2 full modular cable kits for my TPN650 (missing whatever it is that I'm using out of them). If they're the same exact cables, we might be able to find some alternate ones that would work just fine.

350

Its the 8 pin to 6 pin PCI-e I'm looking for, it fits in the red socket in the picture above.

I've seen many that look like they'll do the job, but have learned that Antec use a couple of different manufacturers for their PSU's, and that not all the pin outs are the same.

could be this one...
400

could be this.
400

or even...
400

Theres just no compatibility reference on the Antec site.

Edit...why are none of the links showing?!
