Great video, that's exactly what I experienced. I don't see how people can't see that. It's not blown out of proportion, it's so easily noticeable. It has happened on every single multi-gpu computer i've built, as well as every single one i've played on at LANs.

If SLI/CF users really want to claim it doesn't exist to justify their purchase, then that's fine by me. I don't really care if they think their card is superior because the game claims they are running a higher FPS. All the matters is how much FPS it feels like.

I use a 120Hz monitor with two 580 Lightnings currently and there is absolutely no hiccups at all in my games (BF3 at 100+FPS on 120Hz is butter-smooth). I will NEVER own a single GPU setup again as long as I live....

Microstutter is real my friend. I experienced it with my GTX 590 and it was horrible in some games and benches. Metro was running in the high 30s to low 40s but felt like it was running at ~15-20 FPS. Modern Warfare 2 was running at several hundred FPS but it felt very jerky every 3 or 4 seconds (stop, start, stop, start, stop, start). Same thing happened in the Heaven Benchmark. It was beyond annoying.

My 580 feels much smoother than my 590 ever did.

I have the money to blow on flagship SLI or Crossfire setups but I don't think I'll ever touch it again. It's disappointing really. I can never add multiple cards together because smoothness gets thrown out the window.

I made a thread about SLI/X-fire setups but got minimal responses. Anyone who has ever had issues with mutli-gpu setups please respond in that thread.

It's going to be a long time before I can justify a single card upgrade. I'm barely overclocked and will need at least 1.5x performance to gather the will.

As long as you stay above 60FPS, your not going to see MS. I refuse to play at anything but 60 even if it means dropping graphical options, but that's why I got a second card to begin with smile.gif

This is well off-topic... so shoot me, but not sure if you guys know or not but it seems that the 680 won't have to wait all that long for the reference waterblocks...

I noticed on EK's site that they already have a page setup for the "Kepler 6x0 Series"... spotted it when I was adding a crap load of shiz to my cart for my next build.

However I could be wrong, and EK may have been doing this (getting pages ready beforehand) for a while, but I don't go to their site very often so thought I might as well point it out.

I guess microstuttering wouldn't bother you as much if you are dropping graphical settings to keep above 60fps in certain games. I personally don't spend a couple grand on a computer to drop graphical settings. If I can't play the game on max, I upgrade or wait for a single GPU that can handle it. I still won't consider dual GPU even though I can afford it.

Microsuttering does still exist at 60FPS, but it's much less noticeable then 30-50FPS in my experience.

Wrong.

I was getting MS and jerky frame rates when I was supposedly getting 300FPS. It was terrible.

So you watched the 30fps comparison of Multi vs Single and you can't see the difference? It was night/day difference to me, but hey it's your eyes, if you can't see it then enjoy your setup. I don't think anyone here is telling you otherwise.

I noticed it on the youtube video but my setup looks NOTHING like that. I never get anywhere near a lowly 30FPS with two 580 Lightnings clocked to 950MHz... wink.gif
