Something tells me the GTX 690 is going to be GK104 x 2. Who knows.

While I am generally an Nvidia fanboy (and I love to see the progress Nvidia has made with the 680) even I can admit the awesomeness of the 7970. AMD released a monster card that is very capable. That the 680 is supposedly even faster, even by a narrow margin, is incredible to me. Both of these cards are just stupid awesome! thumb.gif

It's crazy isn't it? Regardless of what happens, it's a good time for pc gaming, hardware wise. We have the horsepower to brute force our way thru poorly coded software lol.

I can't wait for the next few games that come out to push the graphics when the new consoles roll in..

It's a beautiful thing, strangely. Remember when during every review people were talking about how Crysis was impossible to run past 30 frames?

Remember how everyone was going nuts trying to figure out whether or not the previews were running 3 8800 GTX's in Tri-SLI or 8800 GTX?

Now we're playing it at like 60 frames + with these cards and it's awfully coded laughingsmiley.gif

That was so long ago. 2006/2007 right? Pffff so long ago.

I get nearly 100fps in Crysis with my old and outdated SLI 580 setup!

You get my drift rolleyes.gif - I can't wait for the 'big kepler' at the end of the year with the new consoles as well.

Not nVidia, actually. Tom's site staff requested we remove posts containing the leaked benchmarks, which resulted in a whole thread getting nuked (said thread will be undeleted at the time the review goes up for real). But don't worry, it's just one site, it's not like they ruined the surprise on everyone's account. wink.gif

And we were talking about gaming performance having microsuttering... Every multi-gpu setup that has a chance at running modern games, has microstuttering even if the user can see it or not. Your kind of twisting my words here.

Also you joined the forum to say that?

Ok cool. I was I don't think I've ever seen mods nuke whole threads before, so figured it was outside pressure. Hopefully it will be tomorrow smile.gif

Yes, now if only we could receive games that could actually challenge our hardware.biggrin.gif
