How important is a good case? How should I set the fans in my current case?

I am going to be building another system soon and wondered how much difference case selection makes in temps. In other words, is it worth buying one of those cases that go for over $150, or will I be nearly as well off with the $80 special?

Secondly, on my current system I have two 80mm fans blowing in at the bottom front of case and a 120mm fan blowing out at the top back of the case. I have another 80mm on the side, should that blow in or out?

The 120mm does 60CFM and the 80mm's do 34CFM.

A good case makes all the difference in temps.

Currently the best performing cases use 120mm fans throughout with at least one or two for both exhaust and intake.

My fav for ultimate cooling is the Antec P180b

Edit: I would have the side fan as intake, giving fresh air to the graphics area of the board
