Like I said it is not a forgone conclusion at all. The people that know what they are talking about certainly don't want AMD or Intel anywhere near console CPUs.

Did anyone specifically say AMD CPU? The GPU is a given(almost) as of now. As long as it's an AMD product in a console, it's going to help AMD.

Agreed since consoles have such a large market share for gamers, I think this will boost AMD sales regardless of their so called "fail-dozers"

There are a few programs where the FX stomps a 2600k, but other then that, I don't doubt AMD can manipulate BD to a console usable TDP. And if developers can code for them to their full potential (I'm looking at you Cell), it would be smarter then going with an Intel-based chip.

AMD is already on this generations consoles.

Didn't seem to help them much at all. Should have been optimized for AMD GPU's as the X360 is the most popular console of this generation for games.

Yet everytime a console port comes to PC, somehow NVIDIA has better optimized drivers and performance overall than ATi.

What what percentage of gamers will be CPU limited by an FX cpu at 1080p? What, 1 out of 300 games? 1 our of 10,000 gamers who are running the 79** series?

If you did any 3d rendering on linux you would know that Bulldozer offers more performance per dollar then Intel's offerings do.

You're simply arguing about a bunch of unimportant meaningless crap while having absolutely no grasp on the market as a whole.

AMD offer's better GPU performance per dollar in the vast majority of console ports, in every price tier, even though the PS3 is running on an Nvidia chip.

I love you AMD, but my next build is going intel. ಥ_ಥ

i think the amd apu's are what caused amd to get the gain. i mean when i heard that they could combo the graphics on them and a video card i was sold. i also think that most of amd's market that was phenom ii and athlon ii, never heard of the onboard graphics on a cpu. they probably thought "smaller technology, onboard graphics that can pair up with my 6000 series, and 4 cores at a price that wont kill my wallet. Time for an upgrade!" i was going to get a 955 or 965, but i thought the same thing. thumb.gif Over all i think that it's a good thing that amd is getting some market.
