IMO you should get a UPS that is about %10 more or so above the PSU rating.. you might find by doing this it will drain the battery alot quicker than a 600w unit at full load.. the UPS has a bypass which means once the battery is charged it will like sit there and wait until your power cuts.. then as your psu is rated higher but im am not sure of how much it draws on your rigs full load but you should have enough time to at least save and shutdown..

It depends entirely on your system power draw... if you're running a 500W(or below) system you'll be ok.

np, that will work fine, tho at 830W psu at full load you should get approx 4-5minutes of battery so plenty of time to shut down safely smile.gif
guesstimate from here

No, it would not be enough if you intend to fully load your PSU; you need to take efficiency into consideration, for your PSU to output 860W it would need to draw ~966W(provided 89% efficiency at full load) through the UPS... I'd say a 1KW UPS is the bare minimum.
Also, if you can afford it, look for an online UPS.

my mistake by the looks, i though efficiency was calculated in this case i think the PSU is 92% effecient meaning 92% of rated power, so 0.92 x 860 = 791W is the real power draw.. so it seems i was wrong thinking.gif

Think about it..... it makes no sense smile.gif
On the other hand, 860/0.92 does.. but that's efficiency at half load... I took the Platinum certification value in consideration, which is 89% at full load smile.gif

yep, once i thought back to the simple efficiency formula it makes sense now after i rearrange the equation it does make sense what you say smile.gif
