I think its alot to do with preference. The 3G had a better cord and the sensor was alot more stable, less hassles. Plus its alittle more difficult to mod the 3.5G because of USB pins which require an extra step in the transfer process. I don't mind either sensor to be honest, but I would definitely prefer a 3G if I can find one.
