My mom wants me to choose a small desktop for her, mostly for work and maybe for a media server. She refuses to let me choose Acer, regardless of what's inside. She she'd rather me get her an HP, because they get great reviews. Or Dell, for roughly $250 more (oh yeah, it has to be from Wal-Mart).

I feel your pain when people don't listen to information they don't understand, but it's human nature.

Bummer dude. My parents always supported my suggestions and let me build PC's for the family, even back in the 1980's. Sadly my dad has passed but to this day my mother won't purchase a pre-built computer unless I suggest one to buy.
