Asus P8Z77 WS for Gaming?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, was just checking out the soon-to-be-released Asus boards, and saw this:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z77_WS/

I realize the WS means workstation, but I have seen it has 4 way SLI/CrossFireX and was wondering if it was worse (or better) than the P8Z77-V Pro http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z77V_PRO/ for example?

Any insight would be great!

i was wondering the same thing. this is the only ASUS Z77 board to offer quad SLI / Xfire... I'm assuming its gonna be cheeper than ROG Z77 board, so this seems like a great choice for gaming.

It's a WS board because of the way it's set up and what it supports, i.e. nVidia Quadro/Tesla setups. I have the P8P67 WS and it's great. Workstation or not, it doesn't have to be used in the manner by any means.

I got my P67 WS as a newegg open box return and it is a really really nice board. It's basically the ROG board minus only a few minor features.
Besides the 4-way SLi/X-fire, the WS has more power phases.

WS:
- Industry leading Digital 20 Phase Power Design
(16 -phase for CPU, 4 -phase for iGPU)
- Industry leading Digital 2 Phase DRAM Power Design
- CPU Power Utility
- DRAM Power Utility

V-Pro
- Industry leading Digital 16 Phase Power Design
(12 -phase for CPU, 4 -phase for iGPU)
- Industry leading Digital 2 Phase DRAM Power Design
- CPU Power Utility
- DRAM Power Utility

What is "iGPU"?

integrated gpu ... ie the integrated graphics on the CPU. Typically us on OCN use a discrete gpu (AMD/Nvidia), but with the recent development of VirtuMVP, you can supposedly use the iGPU + the GPU together for even more gfx crunching power.

Good. Now that it's been answered, I ask this: When did a p67 board get onboard video?
