How much do fans really help?

Thread Starter
While my motherboard is being RMA'd I have been keeping myself busy with doing some housekeeping on my system such as cleaning and case mods. I also lapped my corsair h50 to try to improve my temps as my base was pretty horrible out of the box. So to get to my question how much performance increase would I be looking at if I went with two gentle typhoons ap-15s in push/pull over my current scythe slipstreams in push/pull.
Thanks
-Nick

The slipstreams aren't great radiator fans. What speed do you have?

I wouldn't expect anything game changing but IIRC the H50 has a fairly dense radiator so I wouldn't say 5c is out of the question.

I have the 1900 RPM slipstreams, I have been pretty unhappy with my temps so 5c would really be great. If it turns out my motherboard was the problem and fixes it I will order a couple to try out. Are the slipstreams good case fans?

You want the higher static pressure for rads. So the gentle typhoons would work better than the slipstreams.

Most likely get a few degree difference from switching to the better fans. To save on cash I would use the slipstreams for case fans definitely. Not sure how loud they are so that is upto you but I would definitely put the gentle typhoons on the rad. smile.gif
