IPC has improved as a 100Mhz higher clock compared to the 2500K shouldn't give this much of a difference:
IPC must have improved, but I think it's mostly the difference coming from a more aggressive implementation of "Turbo"
maybe this could also affect power/temp?
but also the smaller contact area from the die to the heatsink, the higher density, the "3D" transistors or something...

the IGP was disabled, the basic architecture is the same I think, only transitioned to this new 22nm process
