Well they were using an h100 (i know its not a real water cooler) So i think the results are pretty close if you just shave off a bit of degress for a full loop.
Small wonder.

Well, the actual CPU core is hot. The heat spreader will be less hot, and the laptop even less-so (is that a word? Like moreso? lol w/e). I'd expect laptop temperatures to be roughly the exact same, perhaps a little cooler with IB. As an example, my laptop's CPU is usually 50C just for basic use. But then again, it's completely silent, and the case is barely warm. I think IB mobile will be a lot more impressive, with the exception of the standard-voltage i3's/i5's which seem pretty mediocre.

Why so much hotter when the efficiency is supposed to be better with 22nm?

IIRC in an other thread it was mentioned that smaller doesn't always mean cooler since there is less surface area for the heat to dissipate or something along these lines.
I'm sure someone will chime in that knows what I'm referring to.

I believe they were developed in Oregon.
The 45nm process was in Israel, however.

A H100 performs slightly worse than a Noctua D14. It can be slightly better if you max the fans (much louder than the D14). I upgraded from a D14 to a full loop and got a 19C load drop. H100 is not even comparable to a full loop. smile.gif

Even with a full loop, i'm worried about this processor.

Wait for some more official overclocking results.

It is more power efficient, it just runs hot because your throwing a lot of watts into a much smaller area.

What really annoys me about these reviews is that they don't overclock. In both the 3570k and 3770k all that matters IMO is how they OC....
