What if you could peek into the future?

Other than changing your investment strategy, you might want to know how the gadgets and tech we use will change. Maybe Yahoo will die a slow death … or become the next powerhouse. Apple might continue to dominate, or the phone and a tablet we use today could become the dinosaurs of tomorrow.

Technology defines our culture, and it will define it even more in the future.

For three days, FoxNews.com met with Frog Design, the famous design studio in San Francisco that helped design the original Mac computers and many of the most popular gadgets we use. Here are the concepts for the future that Frog Design developed after brainstorming with their most brilliant thinkers.

I like all of them... however:

Digital DNA
Forget plastic surgery -- or even make-up. Using an in-home appliance, women or men will interact with a touchscreen mirror that will change how you look with the touch of a button. For example, you could try a different eye color, skin tone, or even alter the length of your eyelashes.

Once you’ve seen the “new you” in the mirror, you can step into a DNA re-sequencing machine. Scientists will know how to make the minor adjustments to your DNA for instant results. Once you have programmed your look, it will stay active until the next time you step into the DNA sequencer.

Sounds a little ridiculous for your average household to have one of these anywhere in the near future(aka less than 50 years from now) right?

Actually Jackeyjoe, it's not, indeed it's just an app on a tablet, where you can "See the results" of your face editing, correct?

As far as actually making changes to your face, woe, I can't see that as a reality, not even...

Don't try and think too hard about what can be possible in the next five years, let alone fifty, considering the track record of such things I'm surprised people can still be surprised about such things.

If I was told about all of the gadgets we have gotten in the last 20 years I would of said impossibru.

I'm only 19, and I'm already amazed by most of the things that have been made possible in my lifetime, so I have no doubt that given 25 years or so that this technology will be available. The first few things they mention sound great, if properly used, but it's hard to imagine something as staple as paper being replaced. The idea seems sound enough, but man is it crazy to think I won't be using (or need to use) paper sometime in my life.

As for the DNA adjustments...personally, weekly or even daily DNA re-sequencing just doesn't really sound that appealing to me. The makers would need to be damn sure there was 0% error, at least to get my money. I realize it's an extreme example, but I for one don't want to end up like Butters with balls on my chin.

Some of that stuff seems like it would be useful in our future, and could quite possibly change our lives.

I think anything is possible given time and energy to achieve goals.

A good example of people thinking things that are impossible; look at our not so distant past.

realistically 100 or so years ago we were just discovering the usefulness of electricity! what seemed like totally out of this world technology in the early 1900's is today's useful devices!

I think a good representation of our near future is watching Minority Report, (not referring to the main story) but the technology showcased in the movie.

To most people saying impossible over the next fifty years... just look at what the last fifty years has given us. Go back fifty years ago and tell someone walking on the street that in the future a computer can be smaller then a quarter and see what they would have said to you. Now look at all of our ARM and AVR micro-controllers. Fifty years is nothing to advancement of technology thinking that the human genome was mapped only recently as far as science is concerned.
